Week 15 Current Event
"Spending only $29 a week on food would be extremely difficult. You would have to choose your grocery store wisely and make sure to get the most out of your money. The sad part about this is that people will most likely spend all of their money on junk food that they like instead of healthy food. Some people say that food stamps are unfair and that you can't get enough with $29, but it is important to note that food stamps are only to AID in the purchasing of food. Food stamps are given to people who need extra money for food, not people who have no money at all."
Every week we do a current event. The current event for this week was about food stamps. We had to give our opinion on whether or not we thought food stamps gave enough money for people to buy enough food. I liked this current event because it made me put myself in someone else's position. I also challenged the ideas of what food stamps entail which was cool.
